Expressive arts therapy is all about the process of creative expression. There is no expectation for the end result, no goal of creating a masterpiece, nor a requirement to share any part of the experience or outcome with others.

This is generally the kind of approach I try to follow in my own practice of art-making. I try to create simply for the sake of creating and expressing myself, without focusing too much on the end result and without any explicit intention on sharing what I create with anyone else.

Even with such an approach, I sometimes end up creating things that I do want to share with others. There are also those times when I have an explicit intention for my art-making, like making a birthday card for a loved one, for example. But even with an initial idea in mind, I never know exactly how the process will go or what the end result will be. When I start a project, I never know all of the steps ahead of me. The steps reveal themselves within the actual process of creation.

No matter how I approach it, making art is always a process of going with the flow and letting things unfold. Almost always, something unexpected emerges—it is quite mysterious, really!

I enjoy making pottery, painting, drawing, and discovering new creative methods and materials. If you are curious about my artwork, I have shared a selection of my creations below.
